Broadcasts on Türksat 3A satellite were transferred to other high-capacity satellites

Türksat Satellite Communication Kablo TV and Business Inc. transferred the broadcasts on Türksat 3A satellite, which serves television and radio, to other high-capacity satellites on the night between 15 August and 16 August 2026. In the statement made by the company, it was stated that the Türksat 3A satellite, which was put into service in 2008, has been successfully serving the communication and television broadcasting needs of the country and the sector for many years. The statement stated that the Türksat 3A satellite is approaching the end of its design and technological life for television and radio services and in line with the aim of presenting the new global standards reached in television broadcasting to the audience with the strongest infrastructure, the broadcasts transmitted via the satellite will be transferred to other high-capacity satellites in the TÜRKSAT satellite fleet is as follows:

"Necessary technical plans have been made in order to ensure that our citizens and television channels broadcasting via our Türksat 3A satellite are not negatively affected by the transition process and to ensure uninterrupted broadcast continuity. In this context, the broadcast transmission will be carried out on the night between August 15 and August 16. Since the TÜRKSAT satellites to which the broadcasts will be transmitted are in the same orbital position as Türksat 3A, there is no need for our viewers to install a new satellite antenna or make any changes in the direction and settings of their existing antennas."

In the statement, it was noted that SD and HD television broadcasts offered via satellites after the transfer will continue with their current broadcast formats, and viewers can follow the broadcasts via the same satellite antenna.

In the statement, it was stated that the channel lists of compatible devices will be automatically updated thanks to the TÜRKSAT Channel Update System (TKGS), which is standard in new generation televisions and satellite receivers and developed by TÜRKSAT, and the following information was included:

"For this reason, our viewers with TKGS compatible devices do not need to make any settings or manual channel search. Users of older generation standard internal or external satellite receivers that do not support the TKGS feature must re-scan channels on their devices in order to access the current television and radio channels after broadcast transmission."
