İlhan Fakılı reinforcement from National Team to Ümit National Team

Ümit National Team is on the verge of competing in the UEFA European U21 Championship after 27 years. In line with this goal, the star and crescent team, which will have a critical match with Ukraine, received reinforcements from the National Team.

In the statement made by TFF, it was stated that İlhan Fakılı, who was invited to the A National Team candidate squad, was included in the Ümit National Team squad for the Ukraine match.

"Our Umit (U21) National Team, which will play a critical away match against Ukraine on Saturday, September 26, on its way to participate in the 2027 UEFA European U21 Championship finals, has reinforced its candidate squad with a name from the A National Team.

İlhan Fakılı, who plays for Beşiktaş, will be in the candidate squad of our Ümit National Team in the match to be played against Ukraine, in line with the joint planning of the A and U21 National Team technical delegations. The 20-year-old attacker will return to the National Team candidate squad after the Ukraine match.

Our National Team of Hope, which competed in the UEFA European U21 Championship for the first and last time in its history in 2000, continues its determined struggle towards the goal of repeating this success after 27 years under the management of Coach Egemen Korkmaz. Ümit Milliler, who is in the 2nd place in the 2027 UEFA European U21 Championship Qualifiers Group H with 11 points from 6 matches, will be guaranteed to participate in the play-off stage if they get at least one point from the Ukraine match. Ümit National Team, which maintains its chance of leadership mathematically, will wait for Croatia, which is in the first position with 13 points, with one match remaining, to lose points in order to move to the first place. Our U21 National Team will complete the group matches with the match against Hungary in Istanbul on October 6.
