The meeting ended with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:4, 7:5 in favor of the sixth racket of the world, who was seeded fifth. Schoolkate is ranked 180th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. The match lasted 2 hours 42 minutes.

Both tennis players repeated their best results at the US Open, reaching the second and third rounds, respectively.

In the third round of the final, fourth Grand Slam tournament of the season, Roland Garros 2026 finalist Cobolli will play the winner of the match between Belgian Alexandre Blox and Argentine Marco Trungelliti.
