Applications for higher education scholarships from the General Directorate of Foundations will begin on October 22.

According to the statement made by VGM, scholarship applications can be made via the official website of the General Directorate "www.vgm.gov.tr" between 22 October 10.00 and 31 October 23.59.

Within the scope of the scholarship, which has been given since 2013 in order to fulfill the charitable conditions stated in the foundation deeds, students who are eligible to receive support will be paid 4 thousand liras per month for 8 months during the education period.

Scholarship payments will cover the period October 2026-May 2027.

Applications will be evaluated in line with the Higher Education Scholarship Student Application Evaluation Schedule after checking the accuracy of the information.

Students will be able to update or change the information they declared in the form by re-logging into the system during the application period.

Those who earn at least the minimum wage by working a permanent job, Police Academy and military school students, those who study for an additional period of time beyond the normal education period, and master's and doctoral students will not be able to benefit from the higher education scholarship.

In addition, students who receive free educational aid or scholarships from public institutions, those who receive dependent pensions from VGM, and students whose VGM higher education scholarship was terminated due to failure in the previous academic year will also be excluded from the scope of the scholarship.

The results will be shared on the website.

Payments of students who are entitled to receive scholarships will be made by the Regional Directorate of Foundations, which is responsible for the province where the higher education institution they study is located.

During the scholarship period, the students' affairs and transactions will be monitored by the relevant regional directorate. All announcements regarding the application evaluation process, announcement of results and scholarships will be shared on the official website of the General Directorate.

In the statement, it was stated that in the past years, fake pages and accounts aimed at collecting personal data with misleading content regarding scholarship applications have been created on social media and the internet, and that students should only rely on the official announcements at "www.vgm.gov.tr".
