Vast “Ligne Bleue” operation against the automobile black market in Marseille

The black market in the import-export of vehicles hit hard in Marseille. Friday September 11, the services of the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters took over the 2nd arrondissement and its port to carry out a vast operation called “Ligne Bleue”. The system, launched to dismantle the vehicle export sectors to the Maghreb, made it possible to arrest several people.

According to the authorities, the operation was carried out by personnel from the Marseille Center Division, supported by around fifteen border police agents, eight customs officers but also personnel from Argos (a professional organization which represents the interests of insurance companies) as well as Urssaf. Internal security forces carried out port checks when passengers and goods were boarded on ships, but also in garages suspected of participating in this trafficking.
