Venice hosts the 15th edition of the Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium

The Venice Navy Arsenal hosts the 15th edition of the Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium (T-Rss) on 6 and 7 October, one of the main international forums dedicated to cooperation between navies and maritime security. The Symposium, organized by the Italian Navy, is in its fifteenth edition and since 1996 has taken place every two years in the headquarters of the Institute of Maritime Military Studies, in the ancient Arsenal of what was once the Serenissima Republic.

The event and the theme

The event brings together the leaders of Foreign Navies, representatives of the academic world, scientific research and technological innovation. The theme of this edition, "From Regional Waters to Global Influence: generating effects across the midland seas of the world", aims to propose a reflection on the growing influence of regional dynamics on global balances and the related implications in the maritime domain. The discussion will analyze the interdependencies of the sub-regional areas on the global scenario, i.e. the centrality of the geopolitical and geostrategic spaces of the Maritime Regional Security Complex having as their geographical center the so-called "middle seas", the Mediterraneans of the world which today become "global".
