Consumer prices in Saxony-Anhalt rose by 3.4 percent in September

Consumer prices in Saxony-Anhalt rose by 3.4 percent year-on-year in September.

The increase in the past month was similar to that in December 2023 (3.5 percent), as the State Statistical Office announced. Accordingly, consumers had to pay an average of 0.5 percent higher prices for goods and services in September than in August.

The biggest price driver continues to be high fuel prices, it said. In a year-on-year comparison, this means an increase in the price of diesel fuel by 43.3 percent and premium gasoline by 34.2 percent. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, clothing and shoes also became more expensive.
