Gera. Die Staatsanwaltschaft Gera hat ein Verfahren gegen Thüringens AfD-Chef Björn Höcke wegen des Verdachts der Verunglimpfung des Staates eingestellt. Den Angaben der Staatsanwaltschaft Gera zufolge wurde die Entscheidung, von einer Verfolgung in dem Verfahren abzusehen, bereits Mitte Dezember 2025 getroffen. Bei dem Verfahren ging es um eine Rede von Höcke, die er am Tag der Deutschen Einheit am 3. Oktober 2022 in Gera hielt.

Die Staatsanwaltschaft Gera begründete die Einstellung des Verfahrens auch damit, dass im Falle einer Verurteilung mit den Strafen der Urteile vom Landgericht Halle eine Gesamtstrafe hätte gebildet werden müssen. Höcke war wegen der Verwendung der SA-Losung zu Geldstrafen in Höhe von 100 Tagessätzen und 130 Tagessätzen zu je 130 Euro verurteilt worden. Die Urteile sind rechtskräftig.
