A fight between families motivated by bullying ended with 1 man dead and 3 injured this Saturday (7), in Lagoa Grande.

The conflict began two weeks ago due to a disagreement between teenagers.

On Saturday, the argument escalated to physical attacks between family members and the boyfriend of a teenager's mother was hit with a sledgehammer.

The father of one of the teenagers fired shots at the group. He helped the victims and then fled.

The three injured were taken to hospital and the man with the sledgehammer was arrested. The police continue their search to locate the suspect.

An argument between two families motivated by an episode of bullying among teenagers ended in a shooting, with one man dead and three other people injured, including a 13-year-old teenager, in Lagoa Grande, in the northwest of Minas Gerais.

The crime took place on Saturday morning (7), in a workshop belonging to the family of one of those involved in the disagreement and the person who fired the shots fled.

According to the Military Police (PM), the man who died was the boyfriend of the mother of the teenager suspected of intimidation. The conflict between the families had started about two weeks earlier, after the parents argued over their children's behavior.

According to the PM, the mother of the teenager identified as responsible for the bullying tried to talk to the other family via messages, but ended up being blocked. On Saturday morning, she went to her family's house accompanied by her own son and another child, who has not yet been identified.

There, an argument began that escalated into physical attacks. During the disagreement, the woman called her boyfriend and told him she had been attacked.

The man went to the workshop accompanied by another man, who had a sledgehammer. There was a new discussion at the scene. During the conflict, the father of one of the teenagers grabbed a firearm and fired several shots.

The woman, her boyfriend, and her 13-year-old son were hit, as well as the suspect's mother, a 62-year-old woman.

According to the military, the teenager was hit in the mouth and lost a lot of blood. The two women and the teenager were rescued by the shooter, who then fled. The man who died was taken away in another vehicle by an employee of the suspect.

He was taken to medical care, but died at the hospital in Lagoa Grande.

According to the PM, the three injured were rescued and taken to the Antônio Dias Regional Hospital, in Patos de Minas and the man who had the sledgehammer was arrested.

The military also reported that the shooting suspect has no criminal record and the weapon used was registered. The man who died had an open arrest warrant in Goiás since 2023.

The Military Police continue their search to locate the person responsible for the shooting.
