Woman is dragged by current after falling from a bridge and waits for help clinging to a tree in SC

The rescue mobilized different fronts: two military firefighters entered the water while another team moved on land, with a vehicle, and across the river, with a watercraft.

The victim was located, reached and removed from the water by soldiers. Then, the teams took her to the ambulance along a trail on the banks of the river.

According to the corporation, the woman's fall was not related to the rain. However, the large volume of water and the number of branches and logs dragged by the current made the teams' work difficult and increased the risks of the rescue. One of the firefighters suffered cuts.

After being saved, the woman confirmed that she fell from the bridge, in front of the Agricultural School, in the central region, and ended up being dragged.

She received first aid at the scene and was taken for medical evaluation at Camboriú Hospital.
