Four-year-old child injured by corrosive liquid in Lübeck park

A four-year-old child was injured by a corrosive liquid while playing in a Lübeck park. A loud bang was heard and witnesses saw three teenagers fleeing the park, the police said.

Shortly afterwards, the boy reached into a puddle near the spot from which the young people had fled and suffered chemical burns on his hands and face from an unknown liquid. The father also burned his fingers trying to help his son. Both were taken to a hospital.

The police have started an investigation on suspicion of serious bodily harm and causing an explosive explosion.
