Burglary into a closed hospital in Miastko. They stole equipment and an ambulance

The police were notified about the burglary at night. Preliminary findings show that unknown perpetrators stole computer equipment, medical equipment, medicines and an ambulance, which they drove away with, Dawid Łaszcz from the police in Bytów told RMF FM.

The police are currently determining the exact value of the losses, the circumstances of the incident and analyzing monitoring records in order to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

An examination was carried out on site with the participation of a crime scene technician, traces were secured and witnesses were interviewed. The exact losses resulting from the burglary are being determined, the policeman said.

A closed hospital in Miastko tempts thieves

This is not the first recent break-in into a closed facility. In September, internet creators dealing with the so-called urbex. Recordings from inside the hospital were posted on social media - the facility's management informed about the damaged doors and reported the matter to the police.

The Municipal Hospital in Miastko ceased medical services on August 1. His contracts with the National Health Fund have expired, including: hospital services and outpatient physiotherapy.

The facility found itself in serious financial difficulties - the hospital's debt was estimated at approximately PLN 50 million.

According to the Miastko authorities, the financial problems of the facility were caused by, among others: high costs of providing medical staff. Mayor Jerzy Wójtowicz previously explained that the hospital had to offer high rates to doctors to ensure medical staff. Due to staffing and financial problems, the activities of subsequent branches were suspended.
