Girl injured in school attack in Växjö - links to the online movement TCC are being investigated

On Thursday, a girl was injured in Växjö after a school attack. According to the police, both the suspected perpetrator and the girl are under 15 years of age.

The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance and is being treated for minor injuries.

In connection with the attack, an account on Tiktok published a picture of a hand holding a knife in front of two people. The account uses words and symbols in its username that are linked to the online movement TCC, True crime community. Liam Nebel, who is suspected of the school attack in Fagersta on August 21, was also involved in the same online movement.

In two videos that the account published shortly after the school attack, a boy can be seen walking quickly on a bridge in Växjö. He describes how he sees helicopters and how he is "fucked", driven. He also describes how the attack "unfortunately" did not lead to the loss of life.

"Thanks to everyone in the True crime community," he says in one of the videos.

The online movement TCC is based on paying tribute to murderers like Anton Lundin Pettersson, who was behind the school attack in Trollhättan in 2015. This is mainly done through video clips that are spread on social media. In the United States alone, roughly 20 school shootings and foiled assassination attempts since 2024 have links to the movement, which in Sweden first came to attention after the school attack in Fagersta.

- In events like this, we always have staff who look at what information there is on social media and the rest of the internet. Information that we find is included in the investigation of the crime, says Robert Loeffel, press secretary at the police, to Smålandsposten.

It was at 09.55 on Thursday morning that the police were alerted that a student had been injured at a school in Växjö.

- Due to the fact that it happened at a school, we used everything we had in the immediate area, says Patrik Fors, press spokesperson at police region South.

The police were able to quickly establish that the incident occurred in connection with a sports lesson. Shortly after the alarm was received, they were able to locate the suspected perpetrator.

During Thursday, the police have been on site at the school to hear witnesses and secure technical evidence, but they have also worked with security measures.

- There are many students who have become worried in connection with this event, says Patrik Fors.

Next of kin have been notified of the incident.
