He fought for money by falsifying his past

Information about the judgment issued by the District Court in Słupsk was provided by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. The indictment in this case was filed in November 2024.

Janusz W. answered before the court, among others: for submitting false testimony, obtaining a decision confirming his status as a person repressed for political reasons, and obtaining over PLN 80,000 from the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression. zlotys of financial aid that he was not entitled to. He also tried to obtain over PLN 0.5 million from the State Treasury for alleged repression.

Janusz W., when testifying before courts and the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression, consciously testified untruthfully, claiming that he took an active part in the demonstrations in December 1970 in Słupsk, and that as a consequence of his participation in the above-mentioned demonstrations were the arrest and temporary arrest that took place in August 1971. The content of the prosecutor's decision of August 30, 1971 on the temporary arrest of Janusz W. clearly indicates that he was charged with committing crimes on August 28, 1971, which had no connection with the events of December 1970 - reported Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the Warsaw prosecutor's office. It was about attacking policemen under the influence of alcohol and insulting them.

The prosecutor's office wanted a more severe punishment

As Skiba emphasized, Janusz W. was a taxi driver and a secret collaborator of the Citizens' Militia nicknamed "Róża".

On December 16-17, 1970, demonstrations against the government took place in Słupsk. It cannot be ruled out that the observer and passive participant of the above-mentioned Janusz W. was responsible for the events, but he was neither detained nor identified. There is no evidence confirming his participation in these demonstrations, except for the claims of the person concerned, the prosecutor said.
