Referring to the situation of the Prison Service, Waldemar Żurek recalled his beginnings in the Ministry of Justice on RMF FM.

When I came to the ministry on the first day, it turned out that an agreement had been signed with the Prison Service, which was supposed to provide them with a housing allowance. There were no funds secured for this. I did everything to find these funds inside the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance - said Tomasz Terlikowski's guest. This year, when I took office, we cleared the arrears and I know that the Prison Service was very pleased with this move, he added.

Żurek admitted that those in power had plans for changes in the Prison Service, which were to be implemented over several years, but in the current situation they do not have the money to start this process.

An appeal not only to the Prison Service, but also to our citizens. We have a war budget, the situation is really very serious - explained the head of the Ministry of Justice. As he emphasized, the priority today is to strengthen the army and protect the Polish sky.

"Everything Could Collapse"

According to Żurek, Poland is at such a turning point in history today as it was several dozen years ago.

We must be responsible for the state. I also have court employees who also deserve raises, employees of prosecutor's offices... I say: "listen, we have to grit our teeth today" - reported the RMF FM guest. He added that, in his opinion, the EU SAFE program can be a driving force for the Polish economy.

The head of the Ministry of Justice warned that "snatching money from the budget" could end disastrously in a situation where the war is still ongoing on our eastern border. When the moment comes, as it happened in Ukraine, everything may collapse - he thundered.
