Declining water levels and infrastructure problems in Germany

When you land in Munich with United Airlines from Washington, after just a few hours you get the impression of a country in which many things that shouldn't be normal seem normal. The daily water level reports are quickly checked: the water level is so high almost everywhere that you will soon be able to hike through the Rhine and camp in Lake Starnberg. Bridges are then no longer needed, which fits in well with the traffic situation: many bridges - according to the environmental organization "Transport and Environment" there are 6,000 nationwide - are marked as dilapidated anyway. There are people on the trains who actually don't expect to arrive at their planned destination on time and without being unreasonable.
