West seeks to replace world politics with war using dollar as sanctions tool, says Pierre de Gaulle

ST. PETERSBURG, September 25. /TASS/. The West is seeking to replace world politics with war, using the dollar as a tool of sanctions to that end, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of French President General Charles de Gaulle (1959-1969) and head of the Foundation for Peace and Friendship Among Peoples, said at the 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum.

"These countries want to replace world politics with war. The dollar has become an instrument of sanctions," he said.

At the same time, de Gaulle noted that such actions stem from the unwillingness of Western countries to accept the fact that the world order, "which a few years ago was considered the developing world, now dominates."

"This is a world that unites peoples and populations, one that calmly and freely chooses its partners while respecting sovereignty," he said. "This new dynamic is taking on fresh meaning, because it is the natural dynamic of free choice, free trade, free communication."

However, de Gaulle said that the West keeps trying to "prolong the bipolar confrontational world against Russia."
