Another two explosions in Frankfurt

Two explosive devices exploded in front of a café on Berger Straße and a shisha bar on Zeil on Thursday morning. There have been arson attacks in Frankfurt and Offenbach in the past few days.

In Frankfurt there were again explosions in front of two shops on Thursday morning. The police said early in the morning that explosive attacks occurred almost simultaneously at around 4:20 a.m. on the Zeil in front of the “Truth Lounge” shisha bar near the citizens’ office and the “Rio” açai café on Berger Strasse. The police are at the crime scenes with large teams.

Berger Straße is completely closed. There are currently correspondingly long traffic jams in rush hour traffic. The shattered pieces lie in front of the “Rio”. The pressure wave was so strong that the window of a shop across the street was also destroyed. Witnesses reported hearing two explosions.

The açai café, which only opened in the summer, was popular, residents report. There were long queues. It is unclear who owns the business. The name Max Mustermann appears in the imprint. A neighboring kiosk was also damaged in the explosion at the “Truth Lounge,” which opened in September 2025.

Only on Sunday there were explosions almost simultaneously in front of a bar and a kiosk in Offenbach and Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. On Monday, an explosive device exploded in front of a residential building in the Bockenheim district of Frankfurt. There were no injuries. A 15-year-old teenager was arrested after the explosion at the entrance to a kiosk in Sachsenhausen.
