Microsoft Windows 11 will automatically turn on the memory integrity security feature, which may affect game performance

Windows 11 players may find that the system will help you open an extra layer of security protection. Microsoft expects to automatically turn on the "Memory Integrity" function for more eligible devices starting in October through Windows quality updates, focusing on strengthening the core security of the system, but at the cost of some game performance may be affected.

"Memory Integrity" is a core security feature of Windows, mainly used to prevent malicious programs or problematic drivers from entering the system core. Microsoft said that starting next month, Windows quality updates will expand the scope of automatic activation of "Memory Integrity" and enable this protection on more eligible devices.

However, for players, this security feature may affect game performance. Microsoft has warned in the past that "memory integrity" may slow down game performance on some hardware, especially computers using older processors. Some games may experience a significant frame rate drop; if it is a newer processor, the impact is usually relatively limited.

Whether to enable the inspection step

It is worth noting that Microsoft does not force it to be turned on all the time. If you have manually turned off "Memory Integrity" in the past, this update will not automatically turn it on for you again. If you want to confirm whether your computer is currently turned on, you can go to "Settings" → "Privacy and Security" → "Windows Security" → "Device Security" → "Core Isolation Details" and check the "Memory Integrity" switch.

If you choose to turn off this security feature to improve game performance, Microsoft recommends turning it back on after finishing the game to restore complete core security protection.
