Priority for public transport passengers
In the areas of the largest necropolises, public transport will be given priority.
Our priority is to provide residents with the most convenient access to cemeteries. We have prepared an extensive offer of connections, but equally important are solutions that will allow buses and trams to move efficiently in the busiest areas. We want public transport to be the most practical choice during All Saints' Day, emphasizes Magdalena Musiał, director of the Public Transport Authority.
Frequent departures and new lines
The largest number of special connections will be launched on October 31 and November 1. On these days, passengers will be able to use 26 bus and 8 tram lines that will connect the most important cemeteries, including: Prądnik Czerwony, Rakowicki, Grębałów and Podgórski.
12 lines will run every 10 minutes or more, with most of the remaining services every 20 minutes or more. Special connections will also make it easier to move between cemeteries, e.g. line 804 will connect as many as five necropolises.
Reinforcements already a week in advance
Additional buses and trams appeared on the weekend before All Saints' Day. A special tram line 84 has been launched, the frequency of line 105 has increased, and line 184 runs to the cemetery in Prądnik Czerwony. The full special offer will be introduced from October 31 to November 1, with additional boosts also scheduled for October 30 and November 2.
Facilities and special traffic organization
On the busiest days, solutions will be introduced to improve public transport travel. On the street An additional bus lane will be created in Strzelce, and traffic organization will change in the areas of cemeteries.
During All Saints' Day, we are unable to provide all drivers with easy access and parking at the largest cemeteries. However, we can provide efficient transport for a much larger number of people. That is why public transport receives priority, and we subordinate traffic organization primarily to the needs of its passengers - explains the director of ZTP.
Passengers will be able to use additional and temporary stops, and in the area of the largest necropolises there will be special markings to make it easier to find the right line. 16 vehicles were also prepared in reserve - 10 buses and 6 trams - in case of unforeseen events.
Interactive map and online information
To facilitate travel planning, a special website with an interactive connection map will be launched. Thanks to it, residents will be able to check the best access options to individual cemeteries and routes between necropolises. Additional information and signs will also appear at stops near cemeteries.
