Polish bus accident in Hungary. Prime Minister Tusk is sending a special plane

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Sunday noon that he had decided to send a Polish special plane with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and medical services to Hungary.

This is the result of a tragic accident that occurred around 1 a.m. from Saturday to Sunday. A bus with Podkarpacie license plates drove into a ditch on the M3 highway in Hungary, which connects Budapest with the north-eastern part of the country. There were 57 passengers and two drivers on board. These are Polish pilgrims who were returning from Medjugorje.

Earlier, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. President Karol Nawrocki also expressed his condolences.

Minister of National Defense, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz informed that the 1st Transport Aviation Base in Warsaw is preparing a special plane that will fly to Hungary, among others. with the medical team.

I also instructed the commander of the 8th Transport Aviation Base in Krakow to prepare a CASA aircraft and a military Medical Evacuation Team. If necessary, our pilots will be ready to quickly help injured Poles in Hungary. All actions depend on the decisions of the crisis team, families and doctors. The army is always ready to help, added Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Krosno initiated an investigation into the accident, and the Podkarpackie Voivode, Teresa Kubas-Hul, convened a meeting of the crisis staff.
