He spoke to his supporters: Statement from Minister Işıkhan about a raise for retirees

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, in his statement to the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, said, "The number of bonus days and age are important, but we are still working on it. Our aim is to implement a fair and equitable regulation here."

Stating that a separate legal regulation is needed regarding the minimum pension, Işıkhan said, "As in previous years, the minimum pension is determined together with inflation and year-end inflation differences. We will act with justice here too."

Speaking to the pro-government Yeni Şafak newspaper, Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan noted that they expect the ratio of SSI revenues to cover their expenses, which was 71.5 percent in 2002, to be 88 percent by the end of 2026.

Minister Işıkhan stated that they foresee the ratio of the SSI deficit to national income, which was 22 per thousand in 2002, to be 1.2 per thousand by the end of 2026, and stated that they continue to strengthen the financial balance of the system.

Işıkhan pointed out that the number of young people who are neither in education nor in employment is more than 4 million, and said, "But this is a reality that exists all over the world, that is, it is not only our reality. We have to provide employment to these groups as well. In the meantime, we are implementing important programs for our youth employment. With the POWER program, we aim to reduce the youth unemployment rate, which is 14.8 percent, to below 10 percent. This is one of our most important goals within the scope of both the MTP and the National Employment Strategy."
