NEW Party 'primary election' excitement in Burdur: Diabetic member came from the hospital and cast his vote

İsmail Korkmaz came from the hospital where he was treated for diabetes and cast his vote in the presidential primary election held in Burdur before the 1st Ordinary Congress of the NEW Party.

Party members went to the polls in Burdur within the scope of the member-based primary election held for the chairmanship before the 1st Ordinary Congress of the NEW Party to be held on 14-15 November.

In the primary election, where approximately 3 thousand ballot boxes were set up in 81 provinces across Türkiye, voting continues in the Burdur provincial headquarters, central district headquarters building and district organizations.

HE CAME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND VOTED

During the voting process in Burdur, İsmail Korkmaz, who was treated in the hospital for diabetes, also came from the hospital to vote.

Korkmaz, who came to the polls with the bandage in his hand, cast his vote. Korkmaz stated that he came from the hospital and did his duty.

While the current Chairman Özgür Özel is the only candidate in the primary election, party members can vote until November 5, 2026. Voting will end at 19.00.

NEW Party Burdur Provincial Chairman İsmail Dündar made the following statements in his statement regarding the primary election:

"For the first time in Turkish politics, party members will elect a chairman. This is a very important issue and a very important decision for Turkish politics. The whole of Turkey has seen that we are a Turkish party under the leadership of our Chairman Özgür Özel and that we have left our mark on Turkish politics. Today, we will elect our chairman in a primary election.

Next week, on the 14-15th of the month, our esteemed chairman will take office with new staff at our grand congress. Our voting process will continue from 08.00 in the morning until 19.00 in the evening with the participation of all our party members in all districts of Burdur. "We expect all our party members to vote."
