The hearing of the Yenidoğan Gang case started at Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court. The detained defendant Fırat Sarı and some unarrested defendants as well as the party lawyers attended the hearing. Some detained and unarrested defendants were connected to the hearing via the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS). The hearing started with the defense of the detained defendant Fırat Sarı.
'WE TRIED TO EXPRESS THAT THERE IS A GOOD HEALTH SYSTEM IN Türkiye'
Detained defendant Fırat Sarı said, "This file has a context. Nothing I have said so far has been denied, on the contrary, it has been confirmed. I said that we did not defraud the SSI, that there were no baby deaths, that doctors did not have such an aim and that it was not an organization. I said that this file was a collective job, their aim was to put the current political power in a difficult situation. In all our statements and defenses here, we tried to express that there is a good health system in Türkiye. The Ergenekon case took place. The slanders thrown at people, the false and wrong statements written." "Deliberate expert reports are revealed later. I told you what I did wrong and what we did right. The collective is behind this case. We couldn't enter here at the first hearing. People actually opened this banner for the health system."
'I WANT AN AUTOPSY TO BE DONE ON THE BABIES'
Detained defendant Sarı said, "I want to talk about medical expertise. Every doctor working in the public sector is a medical expert. We receive medical expertise in the ATK course in the 3rd year and become experts. No autopsy was performed on the babies, there is no document. You wrote to ATK, you asked very good questions. ATK clearly says that a report was prepared with hypotheses. I examined the reports one by one. The reports are in two separate templates. Apart from Çorlu Reyap Hospital, other hospitals where babies died hepsinde yenidoğan uzmanı vardı. Bu uzmanlar dosyada tanık olarak dinlenmedi. Bu olaylarda kamunun hastanelerine dair hiçbir kusur bulunmadı. Bu operasyondan sonra Türkiye'de bebek ölümleri arttı. Bu, çok yanlış yönetilen soruşturmadan dolayı. Ben iki saatten fazla uyumadım. 2 DEFENDANTS WERE RELEASED
Announcing its interim decision, the court decided to release doctors Rıza Keykubad and Zeki Ötünç. The court decided to continue the detention of the other detained defendants.
THE HEARING HAS BEEN POSTPONED
The court decided that the next sessions of the hearing would be held in the courtroom on the Marmara Closed Penal Institution campus and postponed the hearing to January 26.
