The New Taipei City Government continues to promote the "New Taipei City Paradise 2.0" project, taking stock of low-efficiency public lands and converting them into practical public spaces. After acquiring land donated by private individuals, Lane 13, Lane 649, Xinzhuang Road, Xinzhuang District, spent more than 1.12 million yuan to open up a narrow bottleneck and add motorcycle parking spaces, greatly improving traffic and disaster relief routes; Zhenglong Lane, Section 2, Sanmin Road, Banqiao District, successfully eliminated the occupation of public land, converted it into a green and beautified space, and introduced YouBike to improve environmental quality and transfer functions.

Secretary for Works Fung Siu-lin pointed out that the core of Melody 2.0 is based on the living needs of citizens. Through cross-agency cooperation and planning tailored to local conditions, idle, unopened or occupied spaces are transformed into public facilities that citizens can actually use. The Xinzhuang and Banqiao cases started with improving traffic bottlenecks and revitalizing public land respectively. Feng Zhaolin said that near the entrance of Lane 649 and Lane 13 of Xinzhuang Road in Xinzhuang District, part of the road land used to be private land and could only be accessed through a narrow passage about 1 meter wide. It was inconvenient for residents to enter and exit, and it also affected the passage of fire fighters and ambulances. After the land was donated to the public by private individuals, the Maintenance Office of the Public Works Bureau invited the Transportation Bureau, New Construction Office, District Office, District Chief and other units to conduct a survey, study improvement plans based on land conditions and local needs, and carry out road bottleneck opening projects.

Zheng Lihui, Director of the Maintenance Engineering Department, pointed out that the Xinzhuang project involved waste removal, floor tidying and motorcycle compartment designation, with a total cost of approximately 1.12 million yuan, revitalizing 188.83 square meters of land, and setting up 12 new motorcycle parking spaces. It will be completed and put into use in September 2026. The widened traffic space will improve the convenience of entry and exit, and will also facilitate the passage of firefighting, ambulance and disaster prevention vehicles.

Zheng Lihui said that the public land next to No. 42 Zhenglong Lane, Section 2, Sanmin Road, Banqiao District, covers an area of ​​about 144 square meters. In the past, due to occupation of the land, its benefits could not be realized. After the city government eliminated the occupation, it re-planned and installed walls, greened the environment, and introduced YouBike public bicycle service to improve the surrounding landscape and increase the convenience of public transportation, allowing the land to be returned to public use.
