NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Saturday issued fresh bailable warrants against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in a 2018 defamation case filed by Vikas Sanskrityayan, also known as Vikas Pandey.

Judicial Magistrate Rahul Jain issued the warrants after the complainant accused Rathee of defaming him in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel. The detailed order is awaited. On October 17, the court had issued bailable warrants against Rathee after a process server reported that his residence was locked when he attempted to serve the notice.

The court had also issued fresh summons to Rathee at his Gurugram address in Haryana. Appearing for Pandey, advocate Samaksh Sharma had told the court that Rathee ordinarily resides in Austria and had travelled to India to attend the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in Delhi.

The court had noted that Rathee was first summoned in the case in July 2019. The defamation complaint was filed by Pandey in 2018 after Rathee uploaded a video about him on his YouTube channel.
