Greek aviation experts continue to examine the cause of the F-4 crash

According to the news in the Greek press, while investigations into the exact cause of the accident continued, experts who served in the Greek Air Force evaluated flight images and available data.

Aviation accident expert and former Army Aviation pilot Pantelis Fragkoulis stated in his statement to MEGA television that the demonstration flights were carried out at very low altitude and high speed.

Fragkoulis stated that even though the pilots are experienced in such flights, a serious malfunction or unexpected development may occur, and the response time is extremely limited due to the low altitude.

Fragkoulis argued that the age of the F-4s, which have been in service for nearly 50 years, does not mean a reliability problem alone, and stated that the planes have undergone regular maintenance and have been developed with modern electronic systems.

Retired Lieutenant General Panagiotis Dimitriadis, on the other hand, evaluated the images of the accident and said that the F-4 appeared to have lost power after making a right turn and then started to descend.

Dimitriadis noted that the cause of the power loss has not yet been determined precisely, and that the engines stopping at the same time, an aerodynamic problem or a different mechanical malfunction are among the possibilities.

The exact cause of the accident is expected to be clarified after the technical investigation carried out by Greek Air Force experts.
