Prof. died Andrzej Mackiewicz, pioneer of immunotherapy and gene therapy in Poland

The Poznań university reported that Prof. Andrzej Mackiewicz died on September 20. The announcement recalled that he was a member of numerous domestic and foreign scientific societies, co-founder of the Scientific Council of the International Institute of Molecular Oncology and the Polish Platform for Innovative Medicine.

He will remain in our memory as a valued and wonderful teacher. We express our deepest condolences to the Professor's family - it was emphasized.

National Institute of Oncology Maria Skłodowska-Curie - National Research Institute reminded that prof. Andrzej Mackiewicz was an outstanding oncologist, scientist and one of the pioneers of research on immunotherapy and gene therapy of cancer in Poland.

For most of his professional career, he was associated with the scientific and oncological community in Poznań - the Medical University of Poznań. Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań and the Greater Poland Oncology Center. He was a specialist in pathology, internal diseases and clinical oncology - we read in the release.
