The title of "Intermission" actually has an interesting origin. Yang Fan recalled that when he was young, he especially liked to enjoy large-scale concerts and theatrical performances. "Works such as "Ben-Hur" and "The Ten Commandments" have intermissions, and you can meet many people. My friends said, 'Yang Fan will never give up any opportunity.'" He believes that his life seems to have reached the "intermission" stage. Editing 15 films into one work this time has become an opportunity to look back on his creative career.

Talking about this work, Yang Fan said that he did not have a special script. He liked to write articles since he was a child. Later he discovered that movies can also be a way to record life, so he wrote "Intermission" as a book, arranging it according to the creative context of 15 works, including both good and bad ones, and even added his own narcissistic monologue. He laughed and said that there were people in the world who wanted to hold a retrospective exhibition for him, but he didn't think there was any need to promote other films, "Just watch this one."

Talking about 1998's "Love", Yang Fan revealed that he has never objected to filming a sequel.
