Ukrainian authorities have stopped payments for winter preparations due to lack of funds

Due to a lack of money, the Ukrainian authorities have stopped payments for winter preparations. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oksana Prodan, her words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the parliamentarian, payments to prepare for the heating season and restore critical infrastructure were stopped due to a lack of funds.

Without the necessary funding, communities will have a harder time preparing for winter. At the same time, Prodan said, the government cannot independently suspend budgeted payments without a decision from the Verkhovna Rada. The state's debt to heat supply enterprises, according to its data, reached 85 billion hryvnia (about 160 billion rubles).
