A housewife was killed after she was attacked with a sun stick by a beach worker, during a quarrel that broke out over a dispute over a place to sit in front of the sea. The details of the incident are due to the security services receiving a notification from a private hospital in the Al-Ajami area stating that a woman named “Rania M.A.” (27 years old) had arrived dead, suffering from a severe bruise on her scalp and scattered abrasions on her neck and face. The prosecution’s investigations revealed that a verbal quarrel broke out between the victim’s brother, called “Abdul Wahab” (15 years old), and the sunshade worker called “Mohammed A” (17 years old), after the latter refused to let the family sit near sea water and strongly rebuked them. The dispute developed into an assault by the worker on the boy, and when his aforementioned sister intervened to break up between them and defend her younger brother, the accused pushed her in the chest to make her fall to the ground, before he quickly hit her with a strong blow to the head using the wooden umbrella stick, which resulted in her falling unconscious and dying immediately after she was taken to the hospital. The Public Prosecution ordered the assignment of forensic medicine to perform an autopsy on the victim’s body to determine the direct cause of death and authorize the burial upon completion, while summoning beach officials and eyewitnesses to hear their statements and take the necessary legal measures against the accused.
