Kuzbass entered the top 10 most attractive regions of Russia for tourists

The Kemerovo region is among the ten most attractive regions of Russia for tourists based on the results of 2025. Kuzbass took ninth place in the ranking of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) with a tourist attractiveness index of 0.44, reports aif.ru.

Over the course of the year, 397 accommodation facilities with a total of 28.5 thousand beds accommodated tourists in the region. About 693.5 thousand people stayed in hotels and other facilities.

In summer, the average cost of a room in Kuzbass ranged from 8.3 thousand to 9.4 thousand rubles. At the same time, the region attracts travelers not only with recreational opportunities, but also with nature, mountains and winter resorts.

In total, ten Russian regions were included in the RGS rating. In addition to Kuzbass, it included the Krasnodar Territory, Ulyanovsk and Yaroslavl regions and other popular tourist destinations. Not without Moscow and the Northern capital.

It is noted that Russians’ interest in traveling within the country continues to affect the economy. According to Rosstat, in 2025 the contribution of tourism to the Russian economy reached 3.1 percent. Over five years, the volume of hotel services has more than tripled, and that of sanatorium and resort organizations has increased almost 2.6 times.
