Gangnam-gu, 'Senior Companion Store' participating stores are recruiting until the 10th of next month

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (Chief Seong-myeong Cho) announced on the 26th that it will be recruiting stores to participate in the 'Senior Companion Store', which provides discounts to seniors and creates a comfortable usage environment, until the 10th of next month.

Senior Companion Store is a project to transform private commercial facilities into senior-friendly spaces in response to the growing demand for leisure and social participation among the elderly.

A total of 100 locations are selected from 25 autonomous districts in Seoul, with four locations allocated to Gangnam-gu.

Selected stores will receive 1 million won in environmental improvement expenses.

More than half of the subsidy must be spent on creating a senior-friendly environment, such as large-font menu boards, high-intensity LED lighting, and safety handles.

If a store is selected as an excellent store at the end of the year, it can receive an additional 1 million won in environmental improvement fees.

Applicants must be small business stores that provide or plan to provide discount benefits to the elderly and must have less than 5 full-time employees. However, gambling businesses, general restaurants, hospitals, and pharmacies are excluded from application.

There are five industries that can apply: sports and health, culture and arts, hobbies and culture, rest and food and beverage, and living and convenience.

To participate, submit the required documents to the Senior Welfare Department at the district office.

After an on-site inspection by the district and an evaluation by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the selection results will be notified by the end of July.
