In Arkhangelsk, a heating main broke, which left 100 houses, home to eight thousand people, without heat and water.

Specialists have begun to eliminate the accident; it is planned that by 3:00 Moscow time heat supply will be restored in 61 houses, and complete restoration of heat supply to all consumers is expected by the end of the working day on September 24.

MURMANSK, September 23 - RIA Novosti. A breakthrough in a heating main left 100 houses in Arkhangelsk without heat and water, where eight thousand people live; specialists are working to eliminate the accident, the city mayor’s office reported.

Information about the accident was received by the Arkhangelsk EDDS at 17.15. Dispatchers immediately notified the TGC and monitored the situation using the Safe City cameras. They notified the State Traffic Inspectorate about the traffic situation due to the overflow of water. Traffic police officers promptly arrived on the scene: they controlled the traffic and compliance with the safe crossing of the road.

Deputy Head of Municipal Affairs Nikolai Khudyakov went to the site of a leak on a heating main in the area of ​​Obvodny Canal Avenue and Severodvinskaya Street.

“There are 100 houses where eight thousand people live under a shutdown of heat and hot water. Until 11 p.m. today, coolant will be cooled and pumped out of the thermal chamber and the heating main channel. Next, specialists will begin switching and powering the area,” Khudyakov said following the inspection, his words are quoted by the city administration.

By 3.00 Moscow time it is planned to supply full heat supply to 61 houses. Another 39 houses, home to three thousand people, will temporarily remain at reduced pressure through reverse supply. TGK-2 will begin eliminating the defect on Thursday morning. The planned restoration of heat supply to all consumers is until the end of the working day on September 24.
