A court in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky recovered three million rubles from a children's hospital for the death of a child with cancer

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the court recovered three million rubles from the Kamchatka Regional Children's Hospital in favor of a local resident - the father of a five-year-old cancer patient who did not survive. TASS reports this with reference to the court.

The court found the boy's attending physician guilty under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties”).

According to the Amur Mash Telegram channel, the child’s attending physician did not have the necessary education. In addition, investigators found that the clinic did not have the necessary equipment to treat children with cancer.

According to the agency, in January 2019, a five-year-old boy was diagnosed with leukemia. Then, for three months, he was in the regional children's hospital, where he underwent treatment. At the moment of critical deterioration in the child’s condition, the doctor did not provide the necessary replacement therapy, which led to the progression of hemorrhagic syndrome and the boy’s death.
