"I'm really looking forward to spending time with Joe Biden," Vance said at a White House news conference.

Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump will remain in Washington on September 11 and will speak at the Pentagon, since speeches are not expected to be made at mourning events in New York. Vance will be present at the memorial at the World Trade Center site. At the same time, ex-presidents do not attend events every year, which is explained by the difficulty of ensuring their security. The vice president did not explain why he believes it is likely that he will meet with Biden at the event.

There will be "many, many intense intellectual conversations" with Biden, who Republicans have accused of hiding mental problems, Vance said.

Vance called participating in the mourning events “a great honor that he looks forward to,” recalling how he did it when he fought with Trump for the White House in 2024. Vance said he felt honored to be able to "share this moment in New York."
