The shortlist of short films for the 10th Pingyao International Film Festival has been announced. 12 Chinese short films and 16 student works have been shortlisted.

The two units are jointly committed to discovering, supporting and encouraging new forces in Chinese-language films. The "Hidden Dragon·Short Film" section selects outstanding Chinese short films of the year from around the world. Among the shortlisted works, there are many well-known works that have been acclaimed at domestic and foreign film festivals. The "Pingyao Corner" section of the education section brings together the annual outstanding creative practices of college students from many places, providing a diverse platform for communication for the new generation of creators to promote each other and develop together.

The 12 shortlisted works in this year's "Hidden Dragon Short Film" unit are all outstanding Chinese short films of the year selected by the short film program planning of the Pingyao International Film Festival from around the world. They have rich themes and diverse styles. The shortlisted short films cover topics such as trauma reconstruction, identity, women's situation and narrative, rural changes, etc., showing a broad vision and keen creative power. Many of the films have already shown their talents in internationally renowned film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, and Locarno. All shortlisted works of "Hidden Dragon·Short Film" will jointly compete for the honor of "Fei Mu Honor·Best Short Film".

"A Corner of Pingyao" is a permanent unit of the education section of the Pingyao International Film Festival.
