Gyeonggi-do secures 12.3 billion won in national funding for next year’s greenbelt resident support project

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it has secured 12.3 billion won in national funds related to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's development restriction (greenbelt) resident support project for next year.

It is an increase of KRW 3.1 billion from this year (KRW 9.2 billion) and accounts for 23% of the total nationwide (KRW 53.9 billion).

In a situation where the national project cost decreased by more than 6% compared to this year, the amount allocated to Gyeonggi Province actually increased.

Gyeonggi-do proposed expanding national budget allocation based on the scale of Gyeonggi-do's collection of conservation fees collected during the release and development of restricted development zones, and actively discovered Nuri-gil and leisure green spaces selected through a public contest for government funding.

The secured budget will be allocated to 13 cities and counties, including Goyang, Gwangju, Gunpo, Namyangju, Bucheon, Suwon, Siheung, Ansan, Yangpyeong, Uiwang, Uijeongbu, Hanam, and Hwaseong, which manage development restricted areas, and will be used to improve living infrastructure and environmental cultural projects.
