The list of vital and essential drugs (VED) may be supplemented with 13 new drugs.

For drugs from the Vital and Essential Drugs list, state regulation of maximum selling prices of manufacturers and control of trade markups will apply.

Among the drugs proposed for inclusion in the list are drugs for the treatment of diabetes, hepatitis C, various types of cancer and other diseases.

MOSCOW, September 30 - RIA Novosti. The list of vital and essential drugs (VED) can be replenished with 13 new drugs, follows from the draft order of the Russian government, which RIA Novosti reviewed.

Expansion of the list of vital and essential drugs means that for these drugs there will be state regulation of maximum selling prices of manufacturers, as well as control of trade markups.

According to the document, the list of vital and essential drugs is planned to include the following drugs: "Arogleptol" (used for type 2 diabetes mellitus), "Verenafusp alfa" (used for hereditary metabolic diseases), "Cavutilide" (used to restore the normal rhythm of the heart), "Ravidasvir" (used to treat hepatitis C), "Encorafenib" (used for inoperable or metastatic melanoma, as well as metastatic colorectal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer).
