China News Service, Urumqi, September 24 (Shi Yujiang) Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as the "Corps") has ranked first in the country in grain yield per unit area for 13 consecutive years in 2025; lint cotton yield per unit area has led the country for 31 consecutive years; the level of large-scale livestock and poultry breeding is 6% higher than the national level; during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the average annual growth rate of the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery is 1.5% higher than the national level.

Xue Bin, Vice Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of the Corps, said that in the five years of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the Corps has continued to promote stable and positive agricultural and rural economies, significantly enhanced its ability to ensure food security and the supply of important agricultural products, significantly improved its agricultural science and technology innovation and equipment support capabilities, significantly expanded its agricultural industry advantages, significantly improved its company's appearance, significantly improved its employees' sense of gain, happiness, and security, and significantly enhanced its endogenous power and vitality for development.
Talking about the Corps' agricultural technological innovation and equipment support capabilities, Xue Bin said that high-standard farmland accounts for more than 80% of the cultivated land; large self-propelled tomato harvesters and cotton pickers have been replaced by domestic ones, and a sea buckthorn harvester has been successfully developed. The comprehensive mechanization rate of main crop cultivation and harvest has reached 95.8%.
When introducing the Corps' agricultural advantageous industries, Xue Bin said that around seven major industrial chains including cotton, grain and oil, seed industry, fruits and vegetables, animal husbandry, winemaking, and tomato processing, 170 leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization have been cultivated; the ratio of agricultural product processing industry to total agricultural output value has increased to 2.5:1; 5 national modern agricultural industrial parks, 6 advantageous and characteristic industrial clusters, and 15 strong agricultural industry towns have been built.
"During the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, we must make breakthroughs in building an important supply base for high-quality agricultural and animal husbandry products across the country, improve the modern agricultural production system, improve the modern agricultural industry system, complete the modern agricultural management system, and build the Corps' agriculture into a modern large industry.
