NEW YORK, September 17 – RIA Novosti. New York will be equipped with new public toilets, the visit limit of which will be limited to 10 minutes, and after that the doors will automatically open, said Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

In total, 17 modular restrooms will be installed in the city as part of the pilot project; they will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. To use you need a special application or the same card.

“In these toilets, after a certain time, lights begin to flash, prompting the person to leave,” Mamdani said during a press conference in response to a journalist’s question about how authorities would combat drug addiction, prostitution and homelessness in such places.

On the modular restrooms themselves there is a “limit” – 10 minutes.
