PARIS, July 10 – RIA Novosti. A 17-year-old girl died in northern France while celebrating the country's victory in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, the Voix du Nord newspaper reported on Friday.

On Friday night, Moscow time, the French team in Boston at the 2026 World Cup beat the Moroccan team with a score of 2:0.

“The evening of the French national team’s victory at the World Cup ended in tragedy in (the commune – ed.) Onua-Emery. A seventeen-year-old teenage girl died in an accident in the city center where the celebrations were taking place,” the article says.

The girl climbed onto the truck's tractor behind the driver's cab, but when the car turned at a roundabout, she fell and was run over, the newspaper writes. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but doctors were unable to revive her.

Several people who witnessed the accident were taken to hospital in a state of shock, reports Voix du Nord.
