The autumn wind is gradually picking up, and the aroma of barbecue is wafting in the alleys. The whole family sits together, skewering barbecue in the left hand and holding moon cakes in the right hand, looking up at the bright moon in the night sky. This is the most ordinary and humane Mid-Autumn Festival routine for Taiwanese people. However, on the other side of the strait, this bright moon, which originally symbolizes reunion, has been quietly coated with a layer of political paint by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda strategy.
Recently, the official media of the Communist Party of China uploaded a short video. The scene was the "Greater Bay Area Gala" in Macau. The person in front of the camera was Liu Dewen, a veteran who has been carrying the ashes of veterans back home at his own expense for many years and is highly respected among the grassroots in the south. He said: "Both sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same full moon, have the same language and the same culture, and are both Chinese people." The tender narrative of tens of seconds quickly became a "hot search" on the Chinese Communist Party's social platforms; at the same time, it also became a hotly discussed topic at the grassroots level in China.

The Chinese Communist Party’s official media deliberately selected Li Chang as the interviewee, who has a strong sense of local humanity, and the news only captured Liu Li’s warm declaration. Obviously, this is no longer a simple cultural report, but a carefully planned "united front weapon." Through Liu Li-chang's declaration, the Chinese Communist Party is trying to instill in Taiwanese people, "Since we are all celebrating the same festival and looking at the same moon, why do we need to be so clear about it?"
However, if it is true that "there is no distinction between you and me" as the Chinese Communist Party says, why is Mingyue always accompanied by military aircraft circling Taiwan and ships crossing the center line? This is exactly the true face of the CCP: holding a mellow mooncake in one hand and smiling warmly, but the other hand is a weapon that can pull the trigger at any time to threaten Taiwan. The purpose of this combination of hardness and softness is not to communicate, but to allow the Taiwanese people to weaken or even lower their defensiveness in the slow process of boiling frogs in warm water, and then move closer to the CCP’s honey-like rhetoric.
Faced with this aggressive and soft offensive, the government should not blindly restrict normal non-governmental exchanges. Instead, it must expose the United Front Network and local collaborators to the sun, ensure transparency and rule of law, and allow the public to see clearly the true intentions behind each of the CCP's "warmth activities"; in addition, For every Chinese, we must have clear thinking ability in our hearts: "We can appreciate the bright moon we share and talk about historical allusions from ancient and modern times to China and foreign countries, but we must not hand over our hard-won freedom to a national system that deprives its own people of their right to speak."
Only by continuing to support national defense independence and strengthening the national military's military preparations for war can we have the most real confidence for our people to defend our national sovereignty. Only with the power to protect our country can the bright moon above our heads shine on this land of freedom, democracy, and humanity every year.
