Two survivors rescued from debris flow on Nepal-China border, death toll rises to over 1,280

Video footage from the scene shows the rescue team picking up the victim, who appears to be a man, and carrying him outside to loud cheers and applause from those around him.

Nepal's disaster response authorities announced on the 3rd that at least 1,259 people have been confirmed dead in the mudslide disaster that occurred in the border area between the two countries. Including the 21 people on the Chinese side, the death toll rose to 1,280. The total number of missing people in both countries exceeds 5,600.

However, most of the recovered bodies were so badly damaged that no progress has been made in identifying them. On the 4th, the Japanese government dispatched a team of experts from the Japan Disaster Relief Team to Nepal. Assist with identification.
