Zelensky revealed that his plane traveling to and from Norway was threatened twice by Russian drones

Ukrainian President Zelensky revealed in an exclusive interview that his plane encountered aerial threats from Russian drones twice while traveling to and from Norway. The dangerous situation on the return trip was made public for the first time.

In an exclusive interview with CBS on the 15th, Ukrainian President Zelensky revealed that in recent weeks, when he passed through Moldova on a presidential plane, Russian drones entered local airspace twice, one of which occurred on the way to Norway and the other on the way back to Ukraine. Zelensky said that the second incident had never been announced to the public before and believed that it was a Russian strategy to intimidate him and other foreign leaders.

CBS reported that the first incident occurred on September 9, when Zelensky flew to Norway to attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway. At that time, Moldova temporarily closed its airspace due to a drone warning, which affected Zelensky's flight schedule; Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store later stated that Zelensky's plane was "almost hit by a drone" in Moldova's airspace.

Zelensky said in an exclusive interview with CBS: "My presidential plane is in Moldova, so they attacked Moldova." He then revealed that when he returned to Ukraine from abroad a few days later and passed through Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, another 1 to 2 drones entered Moldova's airspace. CBS pointed out that the return incident had not been previously reported.

"Reuters" reported that the Moldovan authorities said on the 14th that two drones entered the country's airspace and stayed for about 10 minutes each. However, it is currently impossible to confirm whether this incident is the same as the drone activity described by Zelensky when he returned. Reuters also pointed out that Zelensky himself has said that "maybe" Russia does not intend to directly attack him personally, so it is currently impossible to confirm whether these drones are directly targeting his special plane.

In addition to the private plane incident, CBS reported that on the 13th, a passenger train carrying foreign dignitaries was attacked by a Russian drone in Ukraine. Senior European officials and former CIA Director David Petraeus were on board, and the personnel were forced to evacuate near the Polish border.

When Zelensky talked about the train incident, he said that he did not believe the Russian side and believed that the Russian side may have already known that there were American and European people on the train, so he believed that the entire delegation was one of the targets. However, this is Zelensky's own judgment, and CBS has not confirmed with independent evidence that Russia launched the attack because of his status as a delegation.

Recently, drones have also entered the airspace of other European countries. CBS reported that a NATO fighter jet shot down a drone in Lithuanian airspace for the first time on the 15th.
