Kolon Industries completes expansion of mPPO production line at Gimcheon Plant 2, Gyeongsangbuk-do

Kolon Industries announced on the 9th that it completed the expansion of the mPPO (modified polyphenylene oxide) production line in Gimcheon Plant 2 in Gyeongbuk on the 8th and held a completion ceremony.

Kolon Industries completed new facilities in the second quarter of this year and began production in the second half of the year after completing hazardous materials-related licensing and test runs. We plan to gradually expand production by the end of the year, and are already supplying all of our production to global CCL companies.

Once test production is completed and full-scale mass production begins, mPPO single item sales are expected to be approximately 200 billion won.

mPPO is a low-dielectric (power-saving) material that reduces electrical signal loss in semiconductor circuit boards. Its power-saving performance is about 3 to 5 times better than epoxy resin for the same purpose, so it is used to produce high-performance copper clad laminate (CCL). CCL plays a role in reducing speed reduction and heat generation due to loss of electrical signals in semiconductor circuit boards.
