The file of taxi driver Ali Demirci, who was killed in 2000, was reopened

Ali Demirci, who was a taxi driver, never returned to the house he left on December 1. In the investigation, it was determined that Ali Demirci was stabbed to death outside the city. The investigation and lawsuit initiated regarding the incident were closed due to lack of evidence.

After the establishment of the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Department in the Ministry of Justice, Ali Demirci's relatives applied to the Iğdır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after many murders were brought to light. Ali Demirci's nephew, Atakan Demirci, wanted to shed light on the murder and find his uncle's murderer or murderers.

In the petition submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was requested to re-examine the entire investigation file carried out in the past and to re-evaluate the statements, minutes, reports and other evidence in the file.

In the application, it was requested to identify any contradictions, if any, between the statements of witnesses and suspects taken in the past, and to identify and listen to people whose statements have not been taken before and who may have information about the incident.

It was also requested to investigate whether the previous investigations regarding the place where the incident took place, the way the incident occurred and the criminal tool used were sufficient.

HOPE IT WILL BE SOLVED

Stating that they trust in justice, Atakan Demirci said, "My uncle was murdered in 2000. We submitted our petition to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding this. We want the necessary procedures to be carried out to find my uncle's murderers. The investigation file opened in 2000 has been closed. By submitting a new petition, we demand that the murderers of my uncle be investigated and the evidence re-examined. We trust in our justice. I hope the murder will be solved."

Atakan Demirci said, "I hope my uncle's murderers are found."
