North Korea's Park Jin-hae wins silver medal in women's 61kg weightlifting at the 2026 Asian Games

North Korean weightlifter Park Jin-hae won a silver medal in the women's 61kg class at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Jinhae Park lifted 109kg in snatch, 139kg in clean and jerk, and 248kg in total in the women's 61kg weightlifting competition held at the Small and Medium Business Promotion Center in Nagoya, Japan on the 25th.

Jinhae Park, who successfully lifted 105 kg in the first period of the snatch, got off to a good start by lifting 109 kg in the second period.

Although he failed in his third attempt at 109kg, he finished in second place in the snatch.

In the clean and jerk, after failing to lift 135kg in the first period, he lifted 135kg in the second period and successfully lifted 139kg in the third period, confirming the silver medal.

The gold medal went to China's Yang Liuyue, who lifted 112 kg in snatch, 139 kg in clean and jerk, and 251 kg in total.

Yang Liuyue was 3kg ahead of Park Jinhae in the snatch and took the top spot.

Taiwan's Kuo Xing-chun won the bronze medal with a total weight of 237 kg (107 kg in snatch and 130 kg in jerk and jerk).

Korea's An Si-seong (Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall) ranked 8th out of 9 participating athletes with 96 kg snatch, 118 kg clean and jerk, and 214 kg total.
