China News Service, Shanghai, September 11 (Reporter Chen Jing) As one of the important components of the 2026 Shanghai Tourism Festival, the 2026 "Moon Full World·Tea Enriches the Mid-Autumn Festival" - the Maritime Tea Bureau's Mid-Autumn Festival intangible cultural heritage series of activities kicked off on the 11th at the main venue of Suhe Bay in Jing'an.

In the 2026 "Full Moon, Tea Moisturizes the Mid-Autumn Festival" - the Shanghai Tea Bureau's Mid-Autumn Festival intangible cultural heritage series of activities, various districts in Shanghai will launch a variety of themed activities based on tea products, refreshments, tea sets, tea art, aromatherapy and other projects, combined with Mid-Autumn folk customs, to cultivate a tea culture brand with Shanghai's recognition. In addition to the main venue in Jing'an Suhewan, branch venues have been set up simultaneously in many districts across the city, linking business district attractions, ancient town teahouses, and creative tea drinking spaces, forming a linkage pattern of "one main venue + multiple branch venues" to continue the tea cultural heritage of the old city and the water town tea vein of Jiangnan ancient towns. It is reported that the 2026 "Sea Tea Bureau" Mid-Autumn Festival intangible cultural heritage series activities will last until September 28.

The main venue relies on the Jing'an Tea Culture Experience Week to present immersive exhibitions, garden parties, music performances and interactive experiences to the public, creating a tea culture event with cultural depth, fashionable vitality and international expression, and promoting Chinese tea culture into more daily consumption and life scenes.

As one of the core sections, the immersive light and shadow exhibition was opened for the first time on that day. This light and shadow exhibition uses projection imaging technology to build an immersive enclosed space, with a "light and shadow tea table" and a Shanghai Tea City Walk check-in route. The first-day programs include "Four Seasons of Light and Shadow·Tea Ceremony Experience" and "Beauty of Tamami·Sachet Making", etc., which integrate tea ceremony, handicrafts and light and shadow scenes to bring visitors a multi-sensory experience of sight, smell and taste.

On the same day, the "Hi Tea" themed garden fair opened simultaneously, bringing together tea drinks, cultural creations, food, interactive games and other diverse business formats: Shanghai's time-honored tea drinks and trendy new tea drinks appeared on the same stage, classic tea products and special teas and coffees have their own flavors, and time-honored pastry shops brought Chinese and Western tea snacks, butterfly pastries and other Shanghai-style classic snacks. The reporter saw that there were also stalls on site for aromatherapy handicrafts, cultural and creative goods, and traditional skills experience. Tea culture and lifestyles from different regions meet here, attracting people to stop and appreciate it. On that day, new folk music, pop bands, Western orchestras and other performances were performed one after another, bringing an audio-visual atmosphere that blends ancient and modern times to the Suhe Bay.

The reporter learned that this garden fair brought together six tea merchants and cultural and creative enterprises from Yunnan and Fujian to deeply explore the potential of tea and cultural tourism integration, focus on presenting the results of the two places’ characteristic tea industries, and build a bridge for cross-regional tea cultural exchanges. The aroma of tea from both places converges in Shanghai, using tea as a medium to deepen cultural integration and mutual learning between industries, and promote two-way empowerment and collaborative quality improvement of the tea industry and cultural tourism consumption.

At the same time, the results of the "Tea Rhythm Poetry" poetry collection event jointly organized by Jing'an District Library and "Shanghai Literature" magazine were announced. The event received more than 2,600 manuscripts from across the country. After review by writers such as Zhao Lihong, Miao Kegou, and Ji Zhenbang, a total of 61 winners from first prize to excellence award have been selected.
