张昭说,今年4月,中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所与重庆中国三峡博物馆、巫山县人民政府签署了战略合作框架协议。未来,该研究所将继续围绕巫山县古人类与古生物资源深入开展科学研究,协助完成龙骨坡遗址相关保护、研究与申报工作。
中共巫山县委副书记任鹏宇致辞称,龙骨坡遗址从“保护发掘”到“活化利用”,传承发展中,每一次出发都值得期待。巫山县将在上级部门的指导下,与兄弟单位携手共进,以打造“龙骨坡国家考古遗址公园”为牵引,以深化“人类起源演进”研究为核心,以“龙骨坡活化利用”为抓手,坚持创造性转化、创新性发展,让龙骨坡的古老文明在新时代焕发出新的生机与活力。
据了解,《龙骨坡的故事》特展将以免费展览的形式,在重庆中国三峡博物馆展出。在这里,市民可以看见特殊的石灰岩石制品,直面巨猿、小种大熊猫、桑氏硕鬣狗、最后祖鹿等早更新世哺乳动物化石,并“邂逅”南方古猿“露西”化石复原模型。

该展览展示了奇特的埋藏现象,其中,包括食草动物肢骨与石器的混合堆积、亚洲首次发现的剑齿虎粪便化石,揭示古人类在遗址留下的蛛丝马迹和层出不穷的未解之谜。
